Assisi is a town and commune of Italy in the province of Perugia in the Umbria region, on the western flank of Monte Subasio if you didn’t already know that (now you do….you’re welcome!).
There are many cool shops and good places to eat in Assisi , but I found the Best Veal in all Italy at the Ristorante Minerva located in the heart of Assisi in a hotel, yep a hotel.
Before you go and eat, you must take a stroll through one of the coolest, most beautiful, picturesque places in all the World…Love this place!
One of the main churches you will see and trust me want to see, is The Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi. The Franciscan monastery, il Sacro Convento, and the lower and upper church of St Francis began to be built immediately after his canonization in 1228, and completed in 1253. This is a place you will never forget on your journey to Assisi!

The ambiance and cozy feeling you get walking into the Minerva is Awesome. You would have to take the roof off the place, put it in the center of the grass over looking The Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi to get any better.
Ok now for the food…hope your happy! If you read or have seen any of my posts, I LOVE and I mean LOVE fresh Buffalo Mozzarella Cheese (In a Salad, In a Entree or by itself). Then when you add home grown tomatoes, lettuce and freshly made Pesto Oil, you have a KILLER Caprese Salad…This get’s TWO OH YEAH’S!
When your looking for home made pasta and fresh vegetables…stop by and give the Minerva a try. It will only make your Assisi trip that much better!

Okay…now for the BEST part of Minerva…THE VEAL! Fresh, cooked perfectly with light seasoning, fresh Rosemary and Sea Salt…Can I have another Sir! Just going to go out and say it, the BEST VEAL I had in Italy and maybe the WORLD. Okay did being in Assisi have something to do with it? Maybe! Was I hungry? Yes! Not so fast, will give this Chef Reilly’s Award for BEST VEAL spoons down!
