Lamb Turkey Sausage Chili Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Onion
- 1/2 Cup small diced Celery
- 4 Garlic Cloves Minced
- 1/4 Cup Worcestershire sauce
- 4 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Cup chopped Parsley
- 1 lb ground Lamb
- 1 lb ground Turkey Sausage
- 1 can Beef Broth
- 1/4 Cup Red Wine
- 2 16 oz. Cans Garbanzo Beans
- 1 tsp Thyme
- 1 tsp Basil
- 1 Tbsp Tumeric
- 1 Tbsp Cumin
- 2 Tbsp Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1 1/2 Paparika
- 1 tsp Celery Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 2 Tbsp Pickapeppa Sauce
- 1 Can Tomato Sauce
- 2 Cans Diced Tomatoes

In a large pan or soup pot, add 2 Tbsp olive oil on med-high heat.(Olive oil is added because there is not much fat in the lamb or turkey). Brown the lamb and sausage until cooked. Add an additional 2 Tbsp olive oil, add onions, garlic and celery to the pan, stirring frequently 3 – 5 minutes until onions are translucent.

Add your red wine to the pan, stir and let reduce for 5 minutes.

Now is the time to add the beef broth, Worcestershire, tomatoes, herbs, spices and Pickappa sauce. Basically all remaining ingredients except for the beans, parsley, salt and pepper.
Turn the heat down and Simmer for 30 minutes to an hour, stirring occasionally. (I like to simmer for an hour to let the chili reduce and thicken up, 30 min for a thinner sauce)

Add garbanzo beans and parsley, salt and pepper.

Simmer for an additional 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve and Enjoy by itself or with some Garlic Pita Bread…
