Halal Guys Tempe Arizona Restaurants Reviews – This Ain’t New York!
One of my STAPLE stops when I am in New York is the Halal Cart! To a point even on a short layover at JFK, I took a cab got a to go order and made it back to the airport to eat! When your in New York Check out The Halal Guys
Located in Tempe Arizona, not a Cart, but still has that Feel! You can eat in, get it to go or eat outside!
Cool pictures hang on the wall of the Halal carts in New York. A great touch so you know where the roots started.
A few tables and chairs that you can eat in, but as the cart food is in New York, Halal Guys Tempe Arizona is made to take out.
Like the Halal Carts tradition, the menu is simple and easy. Sandwiches, Platters and sides. Your Choice Chicken, Gyro, or Falafel.
A few sides like Baba Ghanouj, fries and if you are looking for a sweet treat Baklava.
Like my choice in New York, my go to Combo Platter with White and Red Sauce.
Looks the same as I remember peeling off the lid from the container, but boy sure didn’t taste the same!
They stayed true to the AWESOME White and Red sauce, but the meat missed the mark. One of the keys to the cart, is when you order they are browning the meat on the flat top right in front of you. Crisping up that wonderful chicken and gyro and giving it a 3rd dimension of flavor.
Unfortunately the meat is chopped and held in a steam tray where it gets soggy and looses its texture. Halal Guys Tempe Arizona you missed the reason the New York cart was so GOOD!
Now the Falafel…Don’t bother. I travel the world and have had Falafel from New York to through the Middle East and Los Angeles. By far the Worst I have had. No Flavor and over cooked (hard and almost inedible), I got one down but that was it.
The good…Halal Guys Tempe Arizona has to go WHITE sauce. Best sauce period!
Halal Guys Tempe Arizona – I get it you can’t always bring the ambiance or flavor for everything, but not good at all. I heard they were coming to Arizona and couldn’t wait to try it as it is my staple food in New York. Now I can’t wait to go back to New York as the Tempe location just wasn’t good ~ Chef Reilly
