The Halal Guys New York is an Upper West Side mainstay, serving chicken, gyro, and falafel. I know, simple right…that is why you MUST try the Halal Guys when in New York. No matter where I am staying when in New York, I make the journey down to the Upper West Side to my favorite cart!
Some like to go to the 53rd street or the 52nd street, either one is a GOOD choice!

My go to is the 52nd street cart for only one reason; the lamb is juicier and better seasoned, with more of an even, and some extra charred flavor.
Some people call it the ‘Platter’, while others know it as ‘Chicken & Rice”. Part of the secret to this delicious meal is in the sauce. Everybody knows to ask for lots of it and so should you! You can also get the sandwich, which serves the same ingredients (chicken, gyro or falafel) wrapped in pita bread instead.
It’s ALL ABOUT THE SAUCE and Two Choices…The Famous WHITE SAUCE and the FIERY RED HOT SAUCE! Both are great and I always get both. Extra White sauce and a little Hot Sauce!
Here is what you want to get.. “The Platter”, which includes meat (Chicken or Gyro) I get both with rice, lettuce, and slices of pita bread. Make sure to get EXTRA WHITE SAUCE… you can thank me later!
