Grilled Ham Recipes Cooking Ham – I don’t always eat ham, but when I do I Grill it…So Easy and So Good! This isn’t your ordinary heat up and serve ham, but once you try it this is the only way you will want to have it! Great leftovers too, sandwiches, soup or by itself the next day!

When choosing a ham you really can’t go wrong with any cut. I go for the Shank Portion Ham (love making 15 bean soup with the shank and leftover ham), but any butt portion or even spiral ham will do. This way is easy and anyone can grill ham to perfection. Follow the steps below and you and your family are in for a HAM treat!
Ingredients
- 1 8-10 Lb Shank Portion Ham

Preheat your charcoal grill about 300-325 degrees for indirect heat.I use a baking Pan and set up my charcoal around the pan. This will give you even heat around the ham and let you add water, beer or stock to help keep the environment moist.
I don’t usually mention brands, but in this case I will. I use Kingsford charcoal for this, but you can also use a mixture of wood chips and charcoal. I also use my Weber Grill instead of a gas grill. With this piece of meat you want that Smoke to flavor the meat, not just heat it up!
You can season the ham if you like and place the ham onto the grill grates, with the ham flat side down (over the water pan).

No need to alter any cooking times. A good rule of thumb is 12-15 minutes per pound when you stay between 300-325 degrees for a precooked ham to bring up to temperature. Cover the grill and let the ham cook, I grilled mine for around for 2 hours or until an internal temperature of 145 degrees.

If you are using a glaze, put it on 15-20 minutes before taking the ham off the grill.

Most important part: Let your ham rest for 15-20 minutes. You can get the rest of your sides ready while the ham is resting.
