Gene and Georgetti Steakhouse Chicago was founded in 1941 by Gene Michelotti and his partner Alfredo Federighi, who was nicknamed “Georgetti” after a famous Italian cyclist. Located in the heart of River North, Gene & Georgetti is Chicago’s oldest and one of its finest steakhouses. Partners Gene and “Georgetti” worked hand in hand to establish the reputation of excellence that is continued through today.
This is not your average, national chain steak house. This is a steak house with an Italian touch that you would only expect in Chicago!

Let’s get right to it…The best Bone-in Ribeye in Chicago! I travel and eat all over the USA and world and by far one of the best I have had. But let’s back it up and start with the freshly sliced bread and bread sticks. Watch out I almost wasted my meal on eating all of it (it’s that good).
Then you get a dinner salad (Bleu Cheese, Please!) and smothered just the way I like it. The Ribeye was cooked to perfection and a flavor you can only get at Gene & Georgetti. Served with homemade cottage fries that are truly like grandma would make.
Because they are an Italian steak house you have some really hard decisions to make as I could order everything on the menu. From Seafood (Lobster Alla Diavaolo like I made in my restaurant), Pasta (Mostaccioli with meat sauce), to the Italian Specialties (Veal Marsala) were AWESOME!
The ambiance is spectacular with dining room seating or inside by the bar. Great service and a fun place to hang out or have a romantic dinner. A must stop for Steak or Chops while in Chicago!
