Looking for something to do in Arizona on a weekend in October….Make it an Arizona State Fair Food day – Carnie + Foodie = Best Day Ever for Chef Reilly!

A foodies dream…where do I begin with so many Food Choices and so little time! Entering the Arizona State Fair from the main entrance or the Northeast, make your way to either the Avenue or, my fave the Midway, and let the FOOD FUN begin!

This is my go to at any fair and a MUST TRY! Giant Bacon Wrapped Smoked Sausage, it’s the best at the fair. Just look at the meat over a hot wood fire grill waiting for you!

Of course anything at the fair is over the TOP and the Bacon Wrapped Smoked Sausage is No Exception. 1/2 Pound Sausage wrapped in 1/4 Pound of Bacon…OH YEAH!

Don’t forget the Peppers and Onion that tops this one of a kind meals! Tum tum tum tum TUMS…and SO WORTH IT!

What is a trip to the fair with out a stop at the Indian Fry Bread Stand! This has been a Reilly Family fave as long as I can remember. As a meal or dessert you can’t go to the fair without having Indian Fry Bread!

We go for the Taco Style with Beans! Loaded with re-fried beans, lettuce, green onion tomatoes and cheese. This is a meal that lasts the whole day at the fair!

Let’s not forget about the AWESOMENESS of walking around with a Giant Turkey Leg! This has been our go to at the big theme parks around the USA and just as good at the Arizona State Fair…

There are a few BBQ spots, but Piggly’s Barbeque is the Spot you want to eat at. Located near the main entrance on the Avenue you can’t miss it with the line of folks waiting to eat, and of course the BBQ show they put on…See Below! Hey look they have RILEY FRIES… no wonder I like Piggly’s!

They BBQ a whole pig right in front of your eyes…Now THAT is BBQ. A local AZ restaurant located in Mesa, you can go to if you miss them at the fair.

You have your choices for beverages, from Adult drinks to smoothies and root beer floats. But you can’t go to the fair without a Cherry Lemonade served in a Souvenir cup! Oh and you can go back and get refills for a fraction of purchasing a new drink. On a warm October day in Arizona, it hits the spot!

What else do you need to try for Arizona State Fair Food…Funnel Cake, yep Funnel Cakes are a must when eating at the fair.

Deep Fried and loaded with Powdered Sugar or topped with fresh fruit and other toppings, makes this a tradition at any fair.

No matter what your craving is at the Fair, you won’t be let down by the Arizona State Fair Food. I could go on and on, but need to go back, as I definitely got filled up on the first trip. Thanks to the 1904 World’s Fair for starting the Fair Food we have today, it is blast for any Foodie ~ Chef Reilly
