Gear Guides Tested on the Road
We have the best instructors
These gear guides were created from firsthand use on the road — not studio tests or sponsored lists. Every piece of cookware, cutlery, coffee gear, and travel tool featured here has been used, tested, and re-used in real cooking situations, rugged travel setups, and roadside kitchens. What survives the road earns its place.
How We Test Gear on the Road
Gear isn’t chosen based on specs or ads — it’s chosen based on real performance. We test cookware, knives, coffee gear, and travel tools under real road conditions from campfires to kitchen counters. If it fails on the road, it fails our guide.
Fire Tested
Cooked over open flame, campfires, and cast iron heat — not just studio stoves.
Road Proven
Packed, hauled, bounced, and used across miles of travel and roadside cooks.
Kitchen Approved
Used in real kitchens, at home and on the line, where performance and strength matters.
If it doesn’t survive the road, it doesn’t make the list.
Gear is tested the same way it’s used — packed, unpacked, cooked with, cleaned, and used again. We test gear in outdoor setups, roadside kitchens, and everyday travel conditions, not controlled studio environments.
If something fails on the road, it fails the test. Only gear that earns its place makes it into our guides.
